“discarding these useless stereotypes”
No body I have ever met fits within the smooth, clean, easily definable categories I so readily wield on a daily basis.
Each time I give myself over to encountering another person in all the wealth of their intersectional humanity, I find myself once again perplexed and mystified by the complexity and fluidity of life.
Where did these trifling categories come from and why do I still wield them?
They serve little purpose other than creating stereotypes that do more to divide and conceal than anything else.
God, help me discard these useless stereotypes that I live by.

Lord, help me, too!
